(The) example (of) those who disbelieve in their Lord, their deeds (are) like ashes blows furiously on it the wind in a day stormy. No control (they have) of what they have earned on anything. That, [it] (is) the straying far.
View 82 More Translations ↓[This, then, is] the parable of those who are bent on denying their Sustainer: all their works are as ashes which the wind blows about fiercely on a stormy day: [in the life to come,] they cannot achieve any benefit whatever from all [the good] that they may have wrought: for this [denial of God] is indeed the farthest one can go astray
The likeness of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their works are as ashes, whereon the wind blows strong upon a tempestuous day; they have no power over that they have earned - that is the far error
The parable of those who reject their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: No power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal)
مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ ۖ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ ٱشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍۢ ۖ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ ١٨
mathalu alladhīna kafarū birabbihim aʿmāluhum karamādin ish'taddat bihi l-rīḥu fī yawmin ʿāṣifin lā yaqdirūna mimmā kasabū ʿalā shayin dhālika huwa l-ḍalālu l-baʿīd
